Brazzaville
This is republic of Congo’s capital city located at the CongoRiver banks. The city has a museum that has many archeological attractions, the famous Basilica of St Anne – a church that was built with great works of architecture, a visit to the house formerly constructed for De Gaulle and a visit to the municipal gardensfor relaxation are the major attractions one can visit while in Congo. At night, tourists can also tour around the candlelit market or go to night clubs and bars around the area.
The Pointe Noire resort is also a major tourist attraction the country has with a long stretching beach. This is however most times crowded and may not please tourists interested in solitude. Their only option is to go to Pointe Indienne 15 miles north.
Getting around
Taxis and mini buses are the most and efficient means of getting around the city. There is also an international airport at Brazzaville served by Sabena airlines with domestic flights operating between Brazzaville via Loubomo and Ouesso to Pointe Noire. one can alternatively use railway transport; there is a train service operating three times a day from Brazzaville via Loubomo and Mbinda to Pointe Noire. When connecting from Brazzaville to Kinshasa, one can sue steamers and barges on the Congo and Ubangi rivers.
